The Rise of Z-eek
After a full night of shooting and a week of editing, this is the final product of Z-eek. I'm proud of the turnout for him being my first puppet to animated along with the background dirt element. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I appreciate the overall outcome! Feel free to leave feedback!!
Foam was used to sculpt Z-eek's face and liquid latex was applied for his skin texture to make it look like decomposing flesh. I then applied paint to give him tones as well as imbedded his eye in the sockets, which are painted beads. I think the zombie look that I was going for was successful.
The final tombs and grave set design. Part of the grave was rigged in order to animate the surface while Z-eek emerged from his grave.
Wood pieces was used as the base and armature wire was used for the
limbs of the character.
Tombstone designs of everyone in
the Stop-Motion class; they were drawn and design traditionally and then edited
in Photoshop. This template was used for the laser cutters to cut out the
shapes of the tombstones and letters from wood.
Loose final look of Z-eek
Process artwork of different
zombie expressions, body shapes, and poses for Z-eek. By being quick and loose,
I tried to capture the feel of how a zombie would twist its body while walking
or emerging from the ground.
Claymation Bunny Animation
A Claymation short about a little rabbit
who finds a carrot, falls in love with it, and protects it by every
means. This character is animated through the use of replacement
animation with armature wire within each body and replacement heads.
This kept the character sturdy through the animation process. A rig was
used to hold the puppet suspended and later removed through the use of
After Effects.
White Board Animated Fight
A Stop-Motion Animated
Short Film about two rival swordsmen that resolved their conflict by the
means of violence. The idea is that when conflicts are resolved through
physical means, no one on either side wins. I used a White board, White
board Markers (Red and Blue) to animate the Swordsmen Characters, and
Prismacolor pencils as their weapons.
The Discovery of The Loch Ness Monster
This was an environmental experiment with the use of 3D Maya. I wanted
to create an underwater environment that is similar to an amusement
ride. The idea is that you discover the remains of a baby Loch Less
monster in an underwater cave. You are then suddenly attacked by the
mother Loch Ness monster, who is being protective and drives you away
from the watery grave.
